Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Accountant with audit expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the unit head and manage a portfolio of clients, preparing their books of accounts, performing detailed audits, and delivering comprehensive financial reports on a monthly or quarterly basis. Additionally, the candidate will conduct pension audits in compliance with the National Pension Commission (PenCom) guidelines.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, general ledgers, and books of accounts for clients.
• Perform monthly or quarterly financial reporting for clients, including management accounts.
• Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other key reports.
• Conduct pension audits in accordance with PenCom regulations and standards.
• Prepare reports on PenCom audit performed and liaise with PenCom Officials.
• Perform detailed financial analysis and audits, identifying areas of improvement and risk.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing annual financial statements and audit reports.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as necessary.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree/ HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other field.
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or its equivalent.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in an audit role.
• Experience in conducting pension audits under PenCom guidelines is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Zohobooks, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software).
• Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
