Company Overview: A Not-for-Profit Organization is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Research Officer with expertise in Corporate Governance.

This role will focus on conducting impactful research and contributing to the organization's knowledge base through the publication of articles, journals, and books.

Position Overview: The Research Officer will play a pivotal role in educating the general public and advancing our advocacy of corporate governance principles and practices. This position requires a candidate with a strong research background, a commitment to scholarly work, and the ability to contribute to academic and industry literature.

Responsibilities:  

  • Design and execute research projects related to corporate governance, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.  
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to identify gaps in existing research and contribute to the development of research hypotheses and objectives.  
  • Author and co-author articles, journals, and books on corporate governance topics, contributing to both academic and industry on behalf of the society  
  • Assist in preparing grant applications to secure funding for research projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.  
  • Promote efficiency in Research and Publications department  Develop and implement research initiatives and projects to address evolving issues on Corporate Governance and related areas  
  • Expand our research portfolio/Extensive research on areas of Corporate Governance
  • Scheduling interviews with the Society’s publications contributors and the Board members who intend to share key experiences in the Society’s publications  
  • Identifying and contacting research and funding partners who have shown interest in the Society’s publications  
  • Managing and maintaining the Society’s library  
  • Developing content initiatives to attract new visitors to SCGN website  
  • Develop monthly newsletter to be issued to members and nonmembers

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in law
  • Minimum 4 years proven experience in conducting research on corporate governance issues.  
  • Track record of publishing articles, journals, or books in reputable outlets.  
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Work condition: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
